Michael Tan
Actor
Michael Tan is a great example of remaining young on the inside. After retirement, he started doing senior theatre with The Necessary Stage’s Theatre for Seniors troupe. Aside from what he does in theatre, he has been open to doing commercial work and collaborating on various art projects. He definitely has not let age confine him.
I can still remember my first contact with you. That was probably during my debut stage performance, as part of Nine Years Theatre’s Twelve Angry Men, back in February 2013—10 years ago! I’ve also participated in your photo exhibition Body of Work in October 2014. Thanks to Theatre for Seniors and you, I’m glad to have collected a series of fond memories at a time when I thought I would like to retire—at age 60! All these are now strongly etched in my memory.
These days, I spend my time actively engaged in a different arena: playing table tennis, tennis, as well as walking nine holes on the golf course. Life, as they say, is for living!
