Marc Nair was interested in some old camera filters I was giving away and mentioned that he liked my current series of portraits. So, we arranged for a portrait shoot where he could also pick up the filters he needed. It was fascinating as he explained that he had just finished writing an autoethnographic doctorate on himself and the loss of his faith. I just could feel something very subtle there, blink and it was gone. Marc is known as a poet, but I guess what I share with him on our respective artistic journeys is a desire to understand ourselves better. And hopefully, we will create more engaging work.
