Jeffrey Tan was truly happy to be back in the studio. We have had many shoots here across the years. He said that he could not do dance poses any more, so today we got his boyish charm. He smiles and laughs with his whole self. But at one point, he remembered his mentor Anthony Then and shed a tear. And I made a note: his story needs to be recorded and told, a local boy who became a ballet dancer, choreographer, and teacher. I take photographs, but sometimes we really need words to capture the journey of our subjects.
