Gregory Burns
Painter/Motivational Speaker
I have known and photographed the painter and artist Gregory Burns for 20 years now. He was my model when I started taking portraits and has been a subject in all my portrait series. So, even though he did not think of himself as being a drama mama, I got him in the studio because he has a great face for portraits. As usual, we chatted about life and making art. Greg is my makan and talk-about-art kaki. He is also a Paralympics athlete and motivational speaker. His love of life is truly inspiring.
Little did I know when first meeting the “nuclear physicist”–turned–photographer, Heng, that we would grow old together, through his lens and my paintings. Sharing with Heng has been a great marker and reality check over the decades, as his depth of experience and understanding always helps me to see life more clearly. Though I’m less inclined to consider myself a drama mama, I’m grateful for all the series of portraits that Heng has included me in and walked me through. It has been a pleasure to see the development of this fine photographer.
