Chihiro Uchida and Kenya Nakamura

I am happy Singapore Ballet principal dancer Chihiro Uchida found her partner, both in life and on stage, in Kenya Nakamura, a fellow principal. She brought him to my shooting party. I had stopped working for Singapore Dance Theatre (as Singapore Ballet was known) a few years prior to 2011, when Kenya joined the company. Times change. I did, however, shoot pregnancy photos for Chihiro and Kenya. With their daughter, they make a lovely family.
Chihiro: I’m really glad that Kenya came to the shooting party with me, and I got to introduce him to Ngiap Heng. Kenya is more of an introvert, just like how Ngiap Heng captured him in this photo. I thought it was very interesting. I am not that extroverted either, but moments like this, where I could introduce my husband to my friend, are always fun and precious.
