Nelson: I remember clearly how this portrait was taken: we were playing and trying out things in front of the camera, and Ngiap Heng suddenly grabbed a scarf and wrapped our heads together. The result? This beautiful shot that captures so much about our bliss of being together! 

Mia: I’m grateful to Ngiap Heng who so generously opened his studio for these shooting parties. It gave us a chance to play and pose without having an objective in mind (as we would in a production’s publicity shoot). Nelson and I would have perhaps 0.1 per cent probability of shooting together like this in another studio. But here we are, heads bound together, immortalized—thanks to the splendid work of Tan Ngiap Heng.
